After two very grey and foggy days on Monhegan the sun came out. It was evening and I went down to Lobster Cove to look around. The light was pure white and brought out the colors of the rocks and grasses and when I turned to look toward the light I caught this sight of the clouds breaking up. The house and cove were in silhouette but the clouds were alive in light. I snapped a quick picture and made some sketches on the spot, but painted this in the studio.
