This little ravine is one of my favorite spots on a hike I sometimes take near my home. I pass it to get to a rocky stream and immense hill beyond, but the curve of land in this area always draws me. The shadows on this Winter day were severe with all of the bare trees, except for the distant Beeches, and they defined the lands as it rolled. I was captivated by the verticals of the trees cutting through the flowing lines of the shadows, and the dark ravine in the center.
