I have always been fascinated by the changes that colors go through on the edges of days. Sunrises and sunsets especially, even trying to figure out just what colors are happening in the dark. Perceptions are strong to make something a color that you think it should be, and as a painter, I am always looking at what colors actually are. Take that a step further and paint them another notch brighter or richer, because after all, it's just paint. This is the time of evening that gets a rich orange that slowly turns a crazy red color in the pine treetops, but that is for another painting.
