Dry Woods Morning

The morning light came through the woods and lit up this little area on the side of my trail, a favorite subject of mine. I sketched it on this Saturday morning, and worked on the painting for the next few weeks. I found that the colors I kept returning to made it feel as dry as the Summer was, somewhat by accident.
