2009
I drive by Turkey Creek every day and every day I look at it. I enjoy the light at different times of day and seeing the changes in the seasons and levels of water flowing through it. I have stopped many times over the years to photograph it or draw something down there but I recently made an effort to capture this slanting early morning light. And using a small canvas that I had previously abandoned I scratched away with the palette knives over the dried, rough surface of the canvas and made this stumbling, abstracted, wonderful mess of a painting.
