While sitting on North Campus eating my lunch one day I happened to see this tree and these branches swaying in the wind. The light was making the tree shapes stand out and the rest of the trees behind it were in the early stages of Spring growth, setting off the stark trunk and branches. Everything was alive and moving. I sketched it two different times that week and the next and worked on this oil pastel for the next couple of weeks off and on, each time making that cool wind rustle the limbs to relive that moment.
