We get snow for about a day or two every few years, and when we do I make sure that I'm out in it as much as I can. The snow changes everything so much in the landscape, and those new insights feel critical for me to capture and learn from. I have painted my trails many times, in different seasons, different times of day, and in different weather. But snow, and especially snow at night, is such a rare and beautiful gem of a thing to me that I really got deeply into painting this as I saw it. It came off quickly, and I dove deeply into keeping it away from getting too tightly painted. It's a particular favorite of mine right now.
