Train tracks and moonlight, throw in a few trees and you've got perfect pieces to build from. I pass this section of track regularly and have drawn it at different times of day, with shadows this way or that, the sun on one side or the other. But I struggled with this painting, it took several changes before I decided to give it up and start over. Painting a dark blue over the whole thing I started seeing the solution in the moonlight. I took lots of half steps before really digging into it and then found that finishing it happened quickly. Sometimes it works that way.
