2015
My walks during the work week generally take place later in the year around sunrise. It's always one of my favorite times of day and watching the light change is never the same. I take mental notes as I see things, the way the orange light breaks through the trees, or a shadows stretches across a Pine trunk. This view is looking down the pasture away from the light where the shadows go across the scruffy grass and the light falls back toward the Cedars. It's something that I have seen so often that my studio time painting this one was really just a building of colors to bring around the feel of the rolls of the field and the contrasts in the light coming from such a low angle.
