2009
As I progressed in my use of palette knives, I tried varying the size of the pieces. This was the largest piece I had done and the size seemed to be perfect for my work. I took an image from a recent trip to Tate City, GA along the Tallulah River origins on a rainy day when the water was high and roaring through the rocks. I worked on making my water move with sharp strokes and scratches and the rock surfaces more varied and alive. Working the light into the trees was nothing but pure intuition and came off very Naturally for me.
