2009
I painted a second image of my rainy trip to Tate City, GA. The first centered on the rushing water and this was more about the whole day. The trees above the water, the colors, the light tumbling down and the rocks, dark and wet. Once again, I felt as if I were sculpting the rocks with the palette knife, carving the spaces as I pushed and scraped the paint around. The feeling I was painting the great simplicity of the image, only the essentials, kept coming to mind.
