I painted several sketches on small boards a few years ago along one of the creeks in Cataloochee Cove, NC. There is a spot I like to work at my friend Dave dubbed "Jim's Rock" and one of the sketches I did from there stayed on my studio wall waiting for me to paint from it. This is the painting at long last. I wanted to show how the light above the creek can glow down the length of it when the sun is out and the leaves are light colored or gone. Almost like the water itself is a source of light.
