2006
At a small and unassuming roadside park in South Carolina there is a set of shoals to rival any great spot in any park I've been. I took a break from a drive up to Asheville, NC and found this place, parked and heard the water moving in the woods down below me. After climbing down a bit the woods opened up and there was this barren shoal and all of these massive rocks. I have been back a couple of times since and have made an oil pastel of this same scene but I was still intersted in exploring the image so I broke out the oils and went at it again.
