I walk through my woods all the time. I look for images to draw and paint but I rarely stop to just take in the woods as a whole. I saw this view in some woods that I tromp through all the time, but the lines of trees, the fallen trees leaning and the trees on the ground all made a nice composition. I also noticed that the light really made each part of the picture really come alive. So as a painter always looking at the light, I painted what I saw in this otherwise ordinary section of the woods.
