We watch a lot of sunsets through the woods down in the bottom of my yard. It's when and where we play nightly badminton matches. It is easiest to play when the sun is below the treetops and by the end of the match the sunset usually shows through the woods. We built a series of small ponds to slow the flow of water through the creek bottom that we have, and the light always catches the water and makes it glow. After watching this event several times I began to establish an idea for this painting.
