2020
I have been chipping away at this painting all year. It's from a moment in early spring or late winter, before all of the world turned upside down and I found myself working from home for 5 months. In that those months I saw this painting daily as I shifted my working office to one end of the studio. I picked away at it so gradually that several times I considered just abandoning it altogether. But in time I pushed myself to accept some changes and ended up really appreciating that this moment from so long ago now stayed with me, a walk in the predawn light with the moon, bright and reflecting light off the clouds, lit this stretch of my trail just so.
