Walking in my sister's woods is always a treat, but when the sun starts to set I walk out the paths on the western edges to catch the light. There is a point of intense yellows turning to oranges that lasts far longer than you think it will, and it's just such a feast for the eyes. I've worked at taking photos of the effect for years and always considered that it would be too hard to capture in paint until I got to this image.
