2024
I've gone back to working on some images in watercolor, an old an trusted medium that I haven't worked in for quite a while. I enjoy the slow process of building colors over time, something that my younger self did not. I was a much more impulsive painter, and still use short bursts of activity in my daily efforts, but have just gotten to slow the entire process down over the run of a painting. I like sitting with work for weeks at a time and really digesting them, picking away here and there, and waiting until they feel done. I am in no hurry, I've got no rush to drive me. Watercolor felt like a natural step to take aside all of my painting and drawing efforts, and this image fit that need. I wanted to paint that kind of pine in this way.
