This huge oak tree came crashing down last year and I've spent a good deal of time photographing, sketching, and painting it in varying seasons and times of day. This is the one large months long slog that kept going in my studio both perplexing me and giving me great insights along the way. I almost miss these big projects when I feel that they are complete, I miss the constant beckoning to work through things each time it comes into view on my wall. But this great tree deserved all the work I put into it.
