I repainted this piece many times and in many different configurations before I came up with this view of a field road nearby. I have had a lingering memory of a bright night with the moon shining in a field along which I am walking on a rutted two track. While I painted this I remembered several different nights having seen just such an image and I continued exploring this feeling until my painting matched it. A good friend told me that this painting makes him want to pull up a chair and sit there in it. That is success as a painter in my book.
