Hocking Hills in Ohio is a spectacular place, and with that area is Conkle's Hollow. After following the easy path up the creek and watching the edges of the hollow rise as you get deeper into it, you get to where the rock faces close in. The trail becomes slightly more challenging and the light disappears as you feel like you are becoming part of the hollow. This is just before the end of the trail, where the tiny waterfall comes down into pitch blackness. It is truly and amazing place, and this painting fell very easily out of my memory of the feel of it. It's the first of what I assume to be many images from that trip.
