I have painted this tree three times now, mostly from the same angle but at different times of day and season. I pass it often and reconsider ways to show just how I see it and why it compels me to paint it. This moment was perfectly timed for the morning sun to hit just that one spot on the tree up high that really set it off from the woods behind it.
